Why Fitted Shirts Still Work

A few years ago I joined the fitted shirt movement.  I was introduced to fitted shirts by a friend.  Honestly, my first impression was that they seemed to fit little too snug.  I wasn’t sure if it looked just right either.  But after a few question and answer sessions with a friend, I settled in and was off and running.  I don’t even remember the last time that I bought a non-fitted dress shirt.

What ever had I done before fitted shirts? Now they just seemed like the best logical conclusion.  In fact, I sometimes feel lost in a normal dress shirt with the excess fabric and all.  However, there are some considerations that have to be accounted for before you go all in. It is always important that you do a fashion review before a night on the town.

Just like standard dress shirts, there are some real ups and downs that come with wearing a fitted shirt.  For one, when the majority of the shirts in your closet are fitted, it forces you to pay a little more attention to your weight.  I think mystery and intrigue are great; however, wearing a fitted shirt while sporting a pot belly leaves absolutely nothing to the imagination.  A closet filled with fitted shirts has a way of convincing you to apply the brakes abruptly after the first slice of chocolate cake.

For those who spend a lot time at the gym and those who are just hanging on to the remnants of a physique that did, you will be well pleased with the way a fitted shirt tapers to you body.  Fitted shirts obviously tend to highlight your physique whereas standard shirts often tend to mask and hid.

If you have the guts and the physique give it a try, but I’m warning you.  Before you know it, you too will be all in.  And speaking of warnings, remember there is such a thing as too tight.  Have fun with it but don’t go nuts.
